RI PRESIDENT WILL VISIT THE MONTH AUSTRALIA MARCH 2010

President of the Republic of Indonesia will make a state visit to Australia, 9-11 March 2010. This is a state visit Mr. H. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is the second to Australia in the capacity as President, but it's also his first visit to Australia since re-elected as President of the Republic of Indonesia in the general election in 2009. He will be accompanied by First Lady, Mrs. H. Ani. Yudhoyono. This visit continues the tradition of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono made the Australians as one of the first country he visited after inaugurated as President.

In Canberra, the President will make a courtesy visit to Governor-General Quentin Bryce, followed by a meeting with Prime Minister Kevin Rudd to discuss issues of bilateral, regional and international. The leaders are expected to discuss the issues of climate change, the threat of terrorism, and reform the world economy since the membership along with Indonesia and Australia in the G20.

Peak President's visit was his speech at the joint session of Parliament of Australia, which is considered by President SBY as an honor and wonderful opportunity to demonstrate to decision-makers of Australia that Indonesia continues to be consistent in its efforts to build a strategic partnership between the 2 countries.
The President is also scheduled to meet with Australian opposition leader, Tony Abbott. The next President will meet with Australian business community in Sydney before going on his official trip to Papua New Guinea.

As the two largest countries in the region, Indonesia and Australia played an important role in ensuring stability and encourage cooperation among the countries of Southeast Asia and South Pacific. President SBY hoped his visit could further promote good relations that have been nurtured, which since 2005 has been generate improvements had not been achieved before in the field of comprehensive cooperation and engagement.
