Thus final conclusions that are agreed with participants Negotiations Capacity Building Workshop on Access and Benefit Sharing. The workshop which was attended by government officials from several agencies such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Environment, Agriculture, Forestry, Law and Human Rights, Health, Marine and a number of NGOs has provided a forum for efforts to identify views and attitudes about biodiversity issues.
Workshop held in Bogor (2-4/03) has started with training on various matters related to the Convention on Biological Diversity, especially on Access and Benefit Sharing. Training conducted by a PhD from Pisupati Balakrishna Office United Nations Environment Program / UNEP in Nairobi.
The workshop also agreed on the draft initial recommendations regarding Indonesia's view of the problems related. Draft recommendations are planned as a discussion on inter-ministerial meeting to prepare a series of meetings, especially the ratification of international regime formation in Nagoya, October 2010.
Deputy Assistant Biodiversity, Ministry of LH, Utami, on this occasion said that Indonesia as a country located in tropical regions endowed with genetic resources is very abundant. Not only at the species level but also at the sub-species and ecosystems. Therefore, the gift of this property must be thankful for, managed and utilized by all the people of Indonesia on an ongoing basis with respect to the preservation of effective and efficient.
Meanwhile, Darmansjah Djumala, Head of Education and Training Center Ministry of Foreign Affairs in his speech suggested that pembukaanya this workshop is a continuation of good cooperation between the Foreign Office Pusdiklat RI with UNEP. Also stated that in terms of time, this workshop appropriate, given the UN General Assembly set 2010 as the International Year for Biological Diversity.
Given the positive benefits of the workshop, participants hoped the workshop held jointly by Pusdiklat, Directorate of Economic Development and the Environment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UNEP can be done on a regular basis. (source: Pusdiklat / Dit. PELH)
